The semi-final will be against Folkestone 1, Biddenden 1 have played them twice already this year in Division 1 and both times have ended in a 3-2 win so a really close match. Once the date has been set for the semi we will let you know so we can get some support to try and get us to the final!

In the leagues both the 1st and 2nd teams are performing well, Biddenden 1 currently sit 4th in Division 1 after an impressive 5 wins in the last 7 matches. Biddenden 2 has also had an upturn in results after winning 2 of their last 3 following 7 straight defeats prior to that. Biddenden 2 has also developed and introduced a lot of new players to the teams this year which will make the whole club even stronger in the future.

The club will be hosting a Junior Team Tournament on Saturday 30th April with a team from Maidstone coming down to play against the juniors from Biddenden, the event will take place all day, if you are interested in supporting the event or wish for your child to take part please contact Chris Gorman.

Tournament Date

The club closed tournaments are coming up in April with the final taking place on Friday 29th April, there are 3 categories (Club, Ladies and Juniors) and each category has a plate competition for those that get knocked out in round 1. To avoid match congestion there will be NO BOX LEAGUE running in April to also encourage as many of those playing to enter the tournaments. Entry details will be up the club in March.

About the Club

Founded in 1975, Biddenden Squash Club is one of the most successful clubs in Kent. We have circa 100 members, operating from our clubhouse which has a bar and separate changing rooms in addition to two well-maintained, heated courts. We have always enjoyed a reputation for being a local club for local players: three-quarters of our members come from in and around Biddenden.

We are represented in the Kent Leagues by three men's teams. As well as a strong senior section, we have a thriving junior membership, with 60 under-18s on our lists. We have four teams in the Kent Junior Leagues and run a special club evening every Wednesday for our junior players.

We run a weekly club night on Fridays for Seniors which is open to both Members and those interested in joining.

We have closed and handicapped tournaments throughout the year for men, ladies, juniors and veterans as well as internal box leagues.

Courts are booked through the bar. These are available in 40-minute slots, with lights paid for through meters. Different rates apply for peak (weekdays 6pm onwards) and non-peak courts.

The bar, which has a good selection of beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and snacks, is open from 6pm Monday to Friday. We organise several social events throughout the year, including quiz nights, bike rides, summers BBQs and a Christmas dinner/dance.

The Club is run on a day-to-day basis by a committee elected by the membership. Recent work has included refurbishment of the bar, a new water cooler, renovation of both courts and new flooring throughout the clubhouse. We are entirely independent and all investment is funded from internal resources.

We welcome membership applications from adults, juniors (U18 or in full-time education) and families. There is currently no waiting list.
